New Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program at Bryan University 

Bryan University is excited to announce a new program in the healthcare field at our Tempe, Arizona campus: Phlebotomy Technician Certificate

Our brand-new Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Program is designed to give aspiring healthcare professionals the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this vital role within the healthcare industry.

Our accelerated and employer-driven program covers a wide range of topics, including venipuncture techniques, specimen collection and handling, infection control procedures, medical terminology, and patient interaction skills. More than half of the program consists of hands-on learning including venipuncture, skin puncture, gowning, gloving, and urinalysis collection.  

With the demand for phlebotomists projected to exceed the average growth rate1, Bryan University is proud to introduce this new program that will give graduates the skills to become job-ready. 

The program encompasses 100 hours of work over four weeks, with a schedule of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program consists of 50 didactic hours and 50 hands-on laboratory hours.

Graduates gain valuable skills needed for this critical healthcare role such as:

  • Applying safety protocols and adhering to government standards in the phlebotomy environment.
  • Demonstrating critical thinking skills, along with professionalism and ethical behavior, in all phlebotomy practices.
  • Effective communication to interact with the public, patients, and fellow healthcare team members.
  • Implementing quality assurance and control principles in requisitioning, specimen transport, and processing.
  • Proficiently performing specimen collection using appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques.
  • Utilizing problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques specific to phlebotomy methodologies.

As no-cost benefits to all Bryan U phlebotomy technician students, the following items are included in tuition:

  • Certification Phlebotomy Technician through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • CPR certification
