Bryan University Hosts Online Graduation Celebration

On Friday, August 21, 2015, Bryan University hosted an online Graduation Celebration, recognizing the academic accomplishments of students with a program completion date of September 2014 to October 2015. All 207 graduates were recognized by name and honors status during the ceremony.

The ceremony featured Keynote Speaker, Kevin Laferriere, CEO of FitPro LTD and Bryan University Advisory Board Member. FitPro is the largest professional fitness development firm in the world. Since its inception in 1990, FitPro has been trusted and relied on by more than 83% of all large scale commercial health club operations in the industry. Mr. Laferriere is also a dedicated student of the industry, holding up to 36 Fitness Certifications and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida. A respected leader in the fitness industry, he has also been featured in numerous publications and presented at fitness industry conferences worldwide. During his presentation, Mr. Laferriere urged graduates to not let money be their measure of success, but instead to use it as a benchmark. He encouraged each of them to pursue their careers with their passion and with a desire to contribute to a greater good. “Spend a life serving others,” he said, “and you’ve spent a life worth living.”

During the ceremony, Cheryl Haab, freelance Court Reporter and Vice President of the Deposition Reporters Association, was presented with the first annual Bryan University Alumni Award for Outstanding Career Achievement.  The Class of 2010 alumnae was thrilled to receive the award and inspired the graduates with a vote of confidence during her acceptance speech. “Suffice to say, my own journey to this point has not been easy,” said Ms. Haab, “but I promise you, it has been worth it. And soon, you, too, will bask in that same certainty, for in taking the road less traveled, you have made an exceptional choice.”

Campus President John Kolacinski was the Master of Ceremonies for the event, welcoming every graduate and guest, recognizing the academic achievements of Court Reporters, and administering the conferring of degrees.  Other featured speakers were:  Vice President of Academic Affairs – Jennifer McGrath, Program Director for Advanced Medical Billing and Coding – Judith Jones, Program Director for E-Discovery Paralegal Studies – Claudine Dulaney, and Program Director of Advanced Personal Training and Exercise Science – Nick Keeling.
