William Hamilton, who serves as the Provost, Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of Legal Services for Bryan University, was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2014 in the fields of commercial litigation, and litigation in the areas of intellectual property, patents and regulatory enforcement.

Best Lawyers is a legal marketing network and one of the oldest peer-review publications within the legal profession. Self-proclaimed as the “gold standard in selecting a lawyer,” the publication collects nominations and evaluates them for inclusion in the annually updated list, which is aimed at providing “the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere.”

Best Lawyers publishes guides in 70 countries. The 20th edition of The Best Lawyers in America includes lawyers chosen from a pool of more than 4.9 million nominations made by colleagues and peers.

Hamilton is a partner with Quarles & Brady LLP in addition to serving successfully in multiple roles at Bryan University, where he has made significant contributions to the school’s Department of E-Discovery. The department was established specifically to educate and train students in methods of electronic discovery, which refers to any process in which electronic data is searched, collected and stored for purposes of civil litigation.

E-Discovery is a burgeoning industry and a key component of the legal process, often representing 50 percent or more of costs related to litigation. Bryan University has designed two programs of study within the Department of E-Discovery to meet the needs of employers seeking candidates who are highly qualified to support, perform or manage e-Discovery projects. At the undergraduate level, students may pursue a Litigation and E-Discovery Paralegal Associate Degree; and at the graduate level, students may earn an E-Discovery Project Management Certificate.

Founded in 1940, Bryan University offers accredited degree programs in e-Discovery, court reporting, personal training and exercise science, and health informatics, with the mission of challenging the boundaries of traditional education and liberating the innate greatness in people.
