Evans Promotes Best Practices for Online-Ed at Educause 2013

Bryan University’s Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Eric Evans will appear at the Educause 2013 Annual Conference in a panel discussion on the following topic: “Time Won’t Tell: Using Technology to Move From Seat Time to Competency-Based Learning.” The conference, Oct. 15-18, 2013, in Anaheim, Calif., brings together leading IT and educational professionals from around the world to participate in seminars, a tradeshow experience, information sharing and brainstorming, and various other networking opportunities.

Educause is a nonprofit association working to advance higher education through the use of information technology. This year’s conference, “The Best Thinking in Higher Education IT,” will be hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center and features many notables from the world of online education. Sessions cover a vast array of topics, aimed at advancing online technologies to improve the distance-learning experience and online education overall.

Evans’ session targets competency-based learning (CBL) in online education. More specifically, participants will gain a better understanding of CBL platform capabilities, strategies for implementation of new online technologies, and insights into how online institutions can improve learning outcomes for individual students.
