Bryan University Supports Local Community Nonprofits

Bryan University in Tempe, Arizona is supporting two local community nonprofits: St. Mary’s Food Bank and Maricopa County Animal Care.

Founded in 1967, St. Mary’s is the world’s first food bank. Today, St. Mary’s Food Bank is one of the largest food banks in the United States, and proud of the impact it has had on Arizona—and the world. Bryan University is sponsoring a drive to collect at least 250 pounds of food starting Monday, November 10th through Friday, November 22nd. If you live within Phoenix or the surrounding areas and would like to donate, please visit us at 350 West Washington Street, Tempe, AZ 85281 (boxes will be available to collect donations), or visit St. Mary’s directly at 2831 N. 31st. Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009. The top ten most wanted items include:

  • Cereal (boxes and cereal bars)
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Rice
  • Beans (canned or dried)
  • Pasta
  • Tuna (canned or vacuum-packed)
  • Canned soup, stew, chili and pasta
  • Diapers (children and adult)
  • Juice (canned, plastic or boxed)
  • Peanut butter

Maricopa County Animal Care is in need of items to help animals in the shelter with the coming cold months.  The animals live outside or inside on cement floors and would greatly appreciate gently used or new blankets and towels. The blanket/towel drive begins Monday, November 10th and continues until Friday, December 5th.  If you live within Phoenix or the surrounding areas and would like to donate, please visit us at the address above (boxes will be available to collect donations), or visit Maricopa County Animal Care directly at 2500 S. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009.

We greatly appreciate your generosity and support.
